Our Services

  • Our goal is to serve small and emerging businesses and nonprofits who have in-house counsel needs but are not in a position to absorb the related expense. We provide advice and counsel to senior management and boards of directors on governance matters and strategic initiatives. We also provide corporate secretarial services, as well as draft complex commercial contracts, oversee mergers and acquisitions and aid in the selection and management of specialized outside counsel.

    The firm also works to develop principles of governance and relevant company and corporate policies, as well as performs internal investigations, training, dispute resolution and litigation management.

    Finally, we regularly provide advice and counsel to human resources departments, provide human resources and employment related training, draft offer letters and employment agreements, as well as noncompete and nondisclosure agreements, employee handbooks, and progressive disciplinary policies.

  • EMPLOYERS

    We have substantial experience representing both employees and employers in legal disputes. For employers, we defend both public and private sector entities in federal and state court matters on employment related claims. We often regularly advise employers in the development of employment handbooks, drafting of employment contracts and severance agreements, and we have substantial experience conducting workplace investigations, as well as human resources training

    EMPLOYEES

    Core to our belief system as a law firm is protecting the rights of individuals in the employment context. Accordingly, we represent individuals with discrimination claims based on race, gender, religion, age, disability and sexual orientation. We also have substantial experience with family and medical leave act claims, as well as with claims for overtime it unpaid wages.

  • The roots of our practice are in commercial and civil litigation. We have represented large corporations, midsize and small companies, municipalities and state agencies, and individuals in a variety of areas, including business disputes, collection matters, construction matters, real estate litigation, employment and labor disputes and bankruptcy related litigation. We have tried numerous cases to either jury or judicial verdict, and have often been called on for “bet the farm“ litigation.

  • We regularly assist clients with their real estate transactional needs, Including drafting agreements of sale, reviewing real estate loan related documents and title reports. We regularly practice in what is considered a subspecialty, negotiating with public entities for the acquisition of city and state owned property.

    We are also experienced in real estate related litigation, particularly in the areas of mortgage foreclosures, eminent domain, and actions to quiet title.

    We regularly provide advice and advocacy services to clients, particularly in the areas of real estate development, land-use and construction. We aid our clients in negotiations with a variety of state, local and municipal agencies, including the City of Philadelphia, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the City of Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, and the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

  • The firm practices in various areas of risk management for construction firms and professionals, including in the following areas: mechanics liens, payment and performance bond claims, construction contract review, delay in extra work claims, contract balance and change order claims, as well as the drafting and negotiation of construction agreements, subcontract agreements, construction management agreements, joint venture and partnership agreements, and consulting agreements.
